As the weather turns on its colder side the snowpack will quickly form strong bonds. Below treeline the snow cover is very slim.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Mildværet har spist godt av snødekket og det er mange steder bart i lavlandet. Snødekket er fuktet helt til fjelltopphøyde.

Fredag er det synkende snøgrense og sludd ved havnivå.

Det er få observasjoner fra høyfjellet de siste dagene pga. mye og vått vær.

8 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from southeast. -4 °C to 2 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Saturday 7. December 2019

5 mm precipitation, up to 15 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from southwest, changing to fresh breeze from the north during the afternoon. -7 °C to 2 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Første del av dagen kan det fortsatt danne seg ustabile fokksnøflak i høyden. Etterhvert som den milde lufta og nedbør opphører vil snødekket raskt stabiliserer seg. I lavlandet er det lite snø igjen og i høyfjellet vil den fuktige nysnøen raskt fryse på nå som kulda kommer tilbake utover dagen.
